WordPress 6.1 was released on November 15th.  WordPress are great for regularly updating their software and this release is no exception and since WordPress “Misha” has been released this is a minor update with 29 bug fixes in Core and 21 bug fixes for the block editor. WordPress 6.1.1 is a short-cycle maintenance release.

As a WordPress site owner there is no immediate need to update to this release as is mainly performance and bug fixes and nothing security related.

We will flag here in the blog if and when security fixes do come out as then it is good practice to update your site and make sure that all your plugins are compatible before doing so
